Cool.

Hey, I really like this song, but if you're looking for ways to improve it, I think you should increase the volume of the strings in the background. I didn't even notice them before reading your comments.

BlazingDragon responds:

I made sure they were quiet as to not overpower the piano. In hindsight, however, it seems that doing so may have been a mistake. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

Great.

Well, I have a policy of reviewing people who review me, so here it is. Unfortunately my review will probably not be as long or as helpful as your review, because the only thing I have to say is that this song rocks. It loops very well, too. I really don't have any suggestions for you. Hopefully one day my music will be as good as yours!

BlazingDragon responds:

Hahaha, thank you for the kind words! It is very flattering to know that people actually look up to my music. I have always been inspired by artists such as MilkManDan, WinterWind-NS, Bosa, MaestroRage and SmartPoetic. Never did I imagine that people would say they hope their music to be as good as mine!

Thank you for the review, friend. :)

PS. That is an awesome policy! I think I might adopt that because I like it so much. I always make sure to look at the profile of those who review me and to at least listen to their music. I have not made a conscious effort to leave reviews for them all, though.

Ok...

Well, you asked for honest critique, so here goes. To me this song really feels like it is missing something. This was a major problem that I had to deal with when I started out writing music. There needs to be more in the background to make the song sound "full" and not empty. In most music there is A LOT of noise going on in the background that you don't really notice unless your listening for it. It could be something as simple as just adding long chords, but there needs to be something to make the music feel less empty.

Also, you have a repeating part throughout the entire song, and to me it feels like it's too noticeable. What you are adding/changing underneath the repeating part sounds a lot more interesting, and you should try to bring that to the foreground and have the repeating part fade into the background.

It's not bad for a first submission. Keep writing music and I'm sure you'll make progress!

roboshopquartet responds:

Sweet! Thanks man! I do agree that it's missing something, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe adding those subtle things could help. =D

Good.

I really like this song. It's soft, yet captivating... Also, it loops very well. It took me a while before I even realized the song had looped.. lol. Would definitely work great as the background to a game. 5/5 9/10

Ding noise?

Is there supposed to be a DING! noise every couple seconds? It sounds like your using a demo of something which makes a noise every so often... It really takes away from the song.

Fix that and your song's rating should improve.

Too quiet

Hey, I think the reason the song is getting such bad ratings is because its volume is WAY too low... You can't even hear the guitar if you don't pump up the volume. Also, the singing is too loud in comparison to the guitar, there needs to be more balance in volume. Other than that, the song isn't bad, just make sure you work on the volume if you want to get good ratings.

GoneTheAnti-Hero responds:

Thanks for the advice, right now my set-up is pretty ghetto, hopefully that'll change soon

Amazing.

This song really is amazing. I can't find any flaws in it... This is the kind of music which I hope I will be able to write one day. I'm glad to see it on the all-time top-scoring list. Keep up the great work!

ErikMcClure responds:

Thanks, and good luck with your compositions!

A little repetitive

I think this song gets to be a little too repetitive. I like the bass part, but I feel as if this is missing some sort of higher part/melody to lead the listener's interest. The part in the middle had a high part, but it could barely be heard over the bass and it came in a little late.

Overall, it's not too bad. I see some potential here, just keep working to improve your stuff.

Biosect responds:

thx for the review, I made this just this morning and im trying to find more to add.

Amazing

Undoubtedly one of my favorite songs of all time. I've been on Newgrounds for a while listening to your stuff, but I only recently decided to get an account. Your music reaches a level of emotional depth which few songs dare to go.

First review!

This is good, I really like it. The use of "stopsound" was interesting to listen to. Keep making music.

Glad you liked it! ^^
